Agnieszka Radwanska looses unexpectedly
Agnieszka Radwanska, ranked ninth in the world, unexpectedly lost on Wednesday in three sets to the Czech Lucie Safarova, twenty-six places lower in the rankings, in the WTA tour event currently taking place in Rome.
Having been given a bye in the first round, Radwanska had cruised past her Italian rival, Roberta Vinci in a mere 54 minutes. Against Safarova, the first set suggested more of the same as Radwanska raced to take it 6:1.
But the Czech refused to wilt, commenting after the game, “When I pulled myself together, I began to play my own game. I pressurised Radwanska, which turned out to be the key to success.”
