A dramatic chase followed a horrific accident in the centre of Szczecin this week when a driver struck a pram on a pedestrian crossing and sped away from the scene chased by a motorcyclist who witnessed the event. The crash happened on a crossing near a busy shopping centre at 5pm on Tuesday.

A young woman, the children’s aunt, was pushing one child in a pram and leading his older brother by the hand across the road when the car hit them. It brushed the two pedestrians aside and smashed straight into the pram, which bounced up onto the bonnet. Instead of slowing down the car accelerated, carrying the pram for a distance before it fell off onto the central verge.
