UEFA’s emissary Martin Kallen has been visiting Poland this week, checking progress towards the EURO 2012 finals against a background of Ukrainian problems, leading some to suspect Poland may get more of the EURO pie.

Kallen has been in Gdansk, Warsaw and Poznan this week, visiting the stadiums and talking with local officials. The whole tone has been upbeat with Kallen declaring in Poznan, for example, “I’m enormously impressed. I was in this stadium two years ago and I can see how much has changed. We’re also ahead of schedule in terms of the timetable for handing over the completed object.”
