Tusk joins some of the world's greatest leaders

Prime Minister Donald Tusk this week added his name to the list of some of the world’s most powerful leaders when he was awarded the Charlemagne Prize 2010.

He was presented with the award for “services to freedom and democracy, and in recognition of his understanding and cooperation with Poland’s European partners”, in Aachen, Germany by Chancellor Angela Merkel.

“The Polish PM is one of the top fighters for freedom, democracy and human rights, who never bowed to the communist regime,” according to the organisers of the award.

Amongst a host of others, previous winners include; Winston Churchill, Henry Kissinger and Bill Clinton. ...
