The Securities Commission gave the go-ahead to Tauron Polska Energia SA to launch its initial public offering on the Warsaw exchange.
An energy company and the second-largest state-owned utility on the government’s books, Tauron plans to publish its prospectus by June 10 and will then try to drum up interest from investors.
Aleksander Grad, the treasury ministry, said if all goes to plan the company should debut on the stock exchange at the end of June.
The government has earmarked 53 percent of the company for privatisation but will retain a controlling 34 percent stake.
