Koscielny could be on his way to the Gunners

Arsene Wenger is looking at signing Laurent Koscielny from French side Lorient in a deal worth GBP 8 mln. Wenger’s eye has been caught by the 24-year-old defender’s performances this season, in which he has also been noticed by Poland’s national trainer Franciszek Smuda. French-born Koscielny has a Polish grandfather and is keen to represent Poland at international level. He has even already gathered the papers to apply for Polish citizenship.

If he does join Arsenal he can expect a welcome from the London side’s two Polish keepers, Lukasz Fabianski and Wojciech Szczesny, while in the national team he would join fellow French-Pole Ludovic Obraniak, who also recently decided to rep ...
