Emergency services discovered the body of a 15-year-old-boy on a flood plain near Leki Koscielne this Thursday, the first fatality from the floods in the Lodz area. The boy was swept away by the current when he went swimming in an area of flood water near his home last Sunday. His older brother managed to swim to safety. Terrified, the 16-year-old ran home and told no one, the alarm being raised instead by an eye-witness to the event.
