Palikot has declared his assets

Controversial MP Janusz Palikot declared an extravagant list of assets to parliament, supporting his reputation as one of the country’s more colourful politicians.

Representing the Lublin region and reputed to be one of the area’s richest individuals, Mr Palikot owned up to possessing paintings and furniture worth PLN 3.5 mln, which furnish a PLN 1.65 mln apartment.

The politician, who belongs to the governing Civic Platform (PO) party, also keeps on the move with a Land Rover Discovery and a 1968 Ford Mustang that help to make up a fleet of four cars.

But if time is short he can also call on the services of his four-year-old Cessna aircraft.

Regarded as a political maverick ...
