Thick fog led to the presidential candidate’s helicopter diverting first to Malbork then to Gdansk.
Jaroslaw Kaczynski was on board a helicopter forced to abandon landing in Elblag and diverted twice before landing safely in Gdansk. The incident cannot have failed to raise memories of the recent air crash in Smolensk where President Lech Kaczynski died along with 95 other passengers.Thick fog over Zulawy Wislane, the delta area south of the Tricity, led to the presidential candidate’s helicopter diverting first to Malbork then to Gdansk. Kaczynski finally made it to his election hustings in Elblag fifty minutes late. The helicopter ride was all part of a significant upturn in the pace of the election campaign that has seen the PiS candidate flying around the country by various means.
