Drink driving figures were down on last year
Last week’s long weekend saw over 2,500 drivers arrested for being drunk whilst behind the wheel.
With 43 people killed and 671 people reported injured, the news will be fuel for those who claim that the country’s drink driving problem is still in need of a drastic shake up.
But compared with last year’s figures, things seem to be improving. 2009 witnessed 65 killed and 801 people suffering injuries.
According to police chief spokesman Mariusz Sokolowski, things are looking more positive. ...
