An ambush early this Wednesday morning in Gdansk by the Central Office of Investigations (CBS) on a gang specialising in blowing up cashpoint machines ended with two anti-terrorists and one criminal in hospital and a car full of bullet holes. It was about 1am on Wednesday when residents on Ulica Czerwony Dwor were awoken by the explosion as the bandits made another withdrawal, followed screeching tyres and several shots. One of the bandits tried to make his getaway in a car, but only succeeded in knocking over his accomplice and two policemen before armed officers brought him to a halt.
