Poland hopes to strike gold with gas mining
The hunt for shale gas in Poland passed another milestone with the announcement by Canadian energy exploration company Lane Energy that it had sunk the first gas test well.
Lane, which is working in co-operation with ConocoPhillips, said that it started work on its well, called Lebian LE1, in the north of Poland.
“Lane Energy Poland is very pleased to announce that drilling of the Lebien LE1 well has commenced,” the company said in a statement.
