Poland’s two proxy representatives at the World Cup, Miroslav Klose and Lukas Podolski, were both on target in Germany’s 4-0 demolition of Australia this Monday.


The two Polish-born attackers form manager Joachim Low’s preferred strike partnership and Klose in particular repaid his manager’s faith following a particularly fallow period that had cast doubts over his selection.

The two strikers reportedly communicate with one another in Polish during games to further confuse defenders, but their attitudes to their homeland are markedly different.
