A tan-obsessed woman stabbed her husband to death after an argument over the amount of time they had spent sunbathing.

Zaneta K. (36) and Dariusz K. (38), of the Pomorskie region, had spent the day at Lake Smilowski with their 14-year old daughter and her friends. Despite having originally planned to stay until evening, neighbours recall the couple quarrelling loudly when they returned home sometime shortly after 5pm.

“Sometimes people are just different and that was the case with Dariusz and Zaneta. He was quiet and calm, whereas she was always shouting at him. But to get to the point where a marriage is ended with a knife for such a stupid reason... it’s just horrible,” said one neighbour who wishes to remain anonymous.

Approximately 20 minutes later, there were reports of cries coming from the flat and Zaneta K. ran screaming from the building.

“We saw the ambulance arrive, but we assumed it was for the grandmother who lives with them,” said the neighbour.

The ambulance crew found Zaneta K. in a state of shock, kneeling over her husband who was laying in a pool of blood - but unfortunately it was too late to save him.

“I can’t believe what this woman has done,” said Eugene K., Dariusz’s father. “For me she is nothing more than a killer.”

Zaneta K. has been remanded in custody for three months.
