Women to retire at 6017th July 2010
In accordance with Supreme Law, women are able to finish work at the age of 60, a petition which was brought by the previous Civil Rights Ombudsman Janusz Kochanowski, who believed this to be discriminatory. His opinion was that an earlier retirement age should result in lower pension premiums and that the State could in no way present a valid counter-argument. Many European nations have same-age retirement plans in place. This is down to longer life-spans for females and no evidence of women suffering poorer health in their later years.
