The offender set fire to his wife with matches
A fireman in Krakow has been given 15 years in prison for setting fire to his wife after dousing her in petrol.
Mother of two Gosia Jadry (40) was regularly beaten by her husband Zbigniew (43) and had even been threatened with burns on previous occasions.
But as she lay cowering on the floor, after another violent, drunken attack, Zbigniew proceeded to pour petrol over her body before lighting a match and flicking it at her, causing her to go up in flames.
The fireman then headed off to hospital to seek treatment for his burnt hands, leaving his wife laying on the ground without any medical assistance. She was later found by her children, who immediately called for an ambulance. De ...
