The campaign was intended to promote road safety
Last weekend witnessed a whopping 44 people killed in road accidents despite a national campaign aimed at promoting road safety.
The nation-wide ‘Weekend Without Victims’ campaign was organised by the General Directorate for National Roads and Highways with an aim to raise the awareness of road safety amongst drivers.
But despite the backing and honorary patronage of the Minister of Infrastructure Cezary Grabarczyk, a total of 542 people were injured and 44 people ended up dead in 308 separate accidents around the country and authorities have been disappointed that the project failed so drastically.
