Wajda has been awarded the 'Order of Friendship'
Film director Andrzej Wajda has been awarded an ‘Order of Friendship’ by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev for his “contribution to the development of the two countries’ ties”.
As well as his 2007 film ‘Katyn’, which documents the infamous 1940 massacre, Wajda has directed a number of works by Russian writers, such as ‘Siberian Lady Macbeth’ by Nikolai Leskov and ‘Pilate and Others’ by Mikhail Bulgakov. ...
