Zbioro has denied that he plans to oust Kaczynski as PiS leader
Divisions have emerged in Law and Justice (PiS), the country’s main opposition party, prompting speculation that rebels may try to oust leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski.
Zbigniew Ziobro, one of Law and Justice’s leading lights, was forced to deny a story in Gazeta Wyborcza that claimed he had a plan to take over the leadership from Mr Kaczynski, who founded the party along with his twin brother Lech.
“I support Jaroslaw Kaczynski and I’m loyal to him,” said Mr Ziobro, a former justice minister in a PiS government. “My only political plan is to win the party another five-year term in office.”
