The floods have created chaos in a number of regions including the south of Poland
Residents from the southern towns of Tarnobrzeg, Gorzyce and Sandomierz are suing the government for the damage caused by the spring floods.
So far, 17 people have filed a collective claim for PLN 8.5 mln, stating that authorities neglected their duties by failing to take appropriate measures against heavy rainfall.
The plaintiffs include businessmen and farmers, some of whom state that they have lost as much as PLN 1 mln after their businesses and homes were destroyed.
