Poland wishes to distinguish between the 'kabanos' and other types of sausage
Germany is attempting to block Poland registering its ‘kabanos’ sausage as an EU protected local food product.
The application, made last January, has been opposed by Berlin authorities who fear it may violate the rights of sausage producers in their country.
But the Polish Meat Association and Agricultural Ministry have defended the request, stating that it is only to distinguish between the kabanos and other types of sausages.
Austria and the Czech Republic also originally vetoed the move, but have since changed their stance. ...
