Plans for a private room for Sikhs to remove their turbans will soon be put in place
A British Sikh has said he will sue Polish border guards after they demanded the removal of his turban as he passed through security at Warsaw airport.
Shaminder Puri said that it was the first time in 40 years that anybody had asked him to take his turban off at an airport.
“I travel a lot. In the United States, Australia, Japan and everywhere else they have a detector, or they, if needed, use their hands,” said Mr Puri. “Never before have I been asked to remove my turban.
He was also fined PLN 500 for initially refusing to remove his headwear.
