The jury is still out on Poland’s football team following this week’s friendly matches. The draw with Ukraine and narrow loss to Australia showed some signs of improvement, but hasn’t left many teams shaking in their boots at the prospect of facing them.

The Ukraine match at least brought an end to 430 competitive minutes without scoring, when Blaszczykowski played in Ireneusz Jelen to sweep the ball into the net just before half-time. But a lapse in concentration in the second minute of 2nd half injury time wiped the smiles off the players’ faces, as Selezniov popped up to score the equalizer.
