British environmental authorities have put up signs to warn Central European immigrants not to hunt carp and pike. The signs – reminiscent of road warning signs and bearing suggestive images of people stealing and eating fish – were put up in response to problems last Christmas with immigrants, particularly Poles and Romanians, fishing lakes and rivers for their seasonal feasts, sometimes with harpoons. ...
