Eight traffic police officers from Busko-Zdroj were arrested this week by the police’s own internal affairs organisation for taking bribes, running up a massive 360 separate incidents in a mere three months from December 2009 to February 2010. In a large scale investigation, over one hundred people have already been interviewed and a further 250 are awaiting interview. Whether the officers will be released or remanded in custody while the investigation continues will be decided by prosecutors this week. Also, many of those that gave the bribes will also face prosecution.
