Wroclaw’s Appeal court this week sent the case of Zenon P. back to the Swidnica Regional Court in a case of a missed lottery win. Mr P. is sueing the supermarket Carrefour after an assistant at the Totalizator lottery point refused to sell him a lottery ticket back on June 29, 2009. Later that evening the numbers he selected, but for which he wasn’t issued a ticket, came up and would have brought him PLN 3mln.

At the time the assistant apparently refused to serve him because she said she wasn’t authorised to do so. Zenon P. had the presence of mind to insist she sign the slip on which he had selected his numbers indicating her refusal to serve him, which she duly did. When the numbers c ...
