American star Halle Berry caused controversy with her recent visit to Warsaw to promote her new perfume.

The Oscar and Grammy-winning Hollywood actress, who was only in the capital for a day, has received much criticism for the heavy security operation that was required to shuttle her around the city.

According to reports, Ms Berry’s entourage, which included an armed police escort, was seen zooming through the streets, jumping red lights and petrifying pedestrians.

Senior MP Edward Siarka has hit out at the over the top security, branding the entire set-up a waste of public money.
