Police in the Silesian town of Wodzisław Śląski have arrested a 21-year-old man suspected of the gruesome stabbing of a taxi driver on New Year’s Eve.

Police in the Silesian town of Wodzisław Śląski have arrested a 21-year-old man suspected of killing a taxi driver in nearby Gołkowice on New Year’s Eve. Piotr B. was apprehended on Wednesday, less than 24 hours after the murder. Investigators believe the taxi driver died because the suspect did not want to pay his fare, but do not believe robbery was the motive as they found the 60-year-old victim’s telephone and wallet still in the car. The driver, whose name was not released, died of multiple stab wounds.
