Warsaw prosecutors have formally charged Ryszard Krauze, one of Poland’s wealthiest people and a central figure in the previous government’s biggest corruption scandal, with giving false testimony during an investigation into the case. Investigators informed the media about the charges on Dec. 27, six days after they were filed, raising a storm of criticism from all sides, with the opposition calling for a formal parliamentary investigation of the prosecution’s behaviour.
