Warsaw Mayor Charges Her Predecessor

Warsaw Mayor Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz has filed charges of criminal wastefulness against her predecessor and the country's current president, Lech Kaczyński, her aide Jarosław Jóźwiak told a news conference on Monday. She charges that Kaczyński's people in city hall squandered nearly PLN 2 million on unneeded representation costs, including funding for a trip to the late Pope John Paul II's funeral, in which former city officials' families may have taken part.
