Police in Lodz have arrested an artist for producing a series of works showing young children being sexually abused by priests.

The paintings, created by 47-year-old Krzysztof Kuszej, 47, were brought to the attention of the authorities by a fellow artist who felt that the works were too vivid.

“The resident’s premises has been searched and officers seized 20 pornographic images containing children. The man has been arrested,” said Magdalena Zielinska, a spokeswoman for Lodz police in an official statement.
