Calls for ban on proposed holiday

There are fears that another holiday could have financial repercussions
President Komorowski has received an appeal asking him not to sign a parliamentary act which would make the Feast of Epiphany (January 6) a national holiday.
The appeal comes from the Polish Confederation of Private Employers ‘Lewiatan’ which fears that the introduction of another non-working holiday will have a negative impact on national businesses.
Coupled with the fact that the Feast of Epiphany (the day used to celebrate the revelation of God to mankind in human form as Jesus Christ) is so close to Christmas, experts believe that it will also encourage more employees to put in a few extra days holiday, allowing them a full two weeks free from work.
