Post Offices in small towns are soon to be a thing of the past
Poland plans to close down approximately 3,000 Post Offices up and down the country over the next three years according to new reports.
While major cities and towns will still boast their own Posts Offices, many smaller towns and villages will see them incorporated into shops and grocery stores and run by agencies and private businesses.
In total, it is estimated that by 2014 there will be as few as 1,500 Post Offices left throughout the country and if figures are to be believed, the conversion will slash costs by up to two-thirds in some cases, saving the Post Office as much as PLN 150-200 mln per year.
