Poland sits highest in the European phone tapping list
Poland is currently top of the EU list when it comes to state surveillance according to a new study.
The report, printed in daily Gazeta Wyborcza, suggests that last year, over 1 million enquiries were made by police, security services and prosecutors to telephone operators, asking for help tapping phone calls and hacking into emails.
These figures are far higher than many countries in the EU such as Britain where 538,00 enquiries were made, and Germany which boasts a low figure of only 16,000. ...
