Around 37,000 people were killed at Pawiak
Police arrested a 31-year-old man this week in connection with a number of damaged plaques outside Warsaw’s infamous Pawiak prison.
Tomasz P., apprehended by authorities next to the commemorative tree outside the prison in the early hours of the morning, has since claimed that “Jesus told him to do it”.
Although few official documents have been found, it is estimated that approximately 300,000 people passed through Pawiak’s door whilst under Nazi occupation. Around 37,000 were executed there and roughly 60,000 sent to death camps. ...
