The new laws should help reduce alcohol-related accidents
With the ski season just around the corner, MPs are looking to improve drinking laws in order to cut down on drunken behaviour on the slopes.
“At present, skiing whilst under the influence of alcohol continues to go unpunished, even if it is the cause of an accident,” says Piotr van der Coghen, head of the Polish parliament’s subcommittee on health and safety.
Under the proposed laws, police will be able to breathalyse skiers and ski-lift operators will be given the power to refuse passes to anyone they suspect of being under the influence.
