No smoking signs are now more common in pubs and clubs
While confusion still surrounds much of Poland’s newly enforced smoking ban, it seems that some clubs are finding loopholes in order to attract customers.
The ‘Meduzy Lornetki’ club in Katowice is one such example, having introduced a system whereby smokers can purchase a membership card which entitles them to enjoy a cigarette inside with their beer or coffee.
“The idea is to exclude our premises from the so-called ‘public space’ stated in the new law, hence the idea of a ‘closed club’,” says owner Krzysztof Krot.
