Malysz hopes to be back up and running in time for the new season
Poland’s champion ski jumper saw his plans spoilt by an untimely knee injury when he almost broke the hill record in Lillehammer during pre-season training this week. It was on Tuesday when Malysz was jumping on the Olympic hill, telling a watching Norwegian TV crew, “I’m really happy with the training in Lillehammer. I’ve made a lot of good jumps here.”
Later, though it turned out that one of the jumps was too good, and in reaching the 146m mark the Pole had strained knee ligaments in landing where the hill flattens out.
