The condemnation has given Medvedev's visit "more context"
Less than two weeks before President Medvedev is due to visit Poland, Russia’s Lower House of Parliament has officially condemned the 1940 Katyn massacre.
The act, which took place only this morning, has been seen as an important gesture which may go some way to help cement relations between the two countries.
“It’s a good step and an important signal,” said Grzegorz Schetyna during an interview with the press. “It’s good because it gives President Medvedev’s visit more context.”
