The EC has come down hard on Poland's lack of progress on preventing floods
Poland is to be taken to the EU’s Court of Justice by the European Commission after its failure to put anti-flood directives into place.
While maps outlining the plans are not due to be submitted until 2013 and defence barriers installed until 2015, the EC is unhappy with Poland for failing to keep Brussels updated on proceedings.
Despite not sticking to the schedule, Kristalina Georgieva, the European Commissioner for International Co-operation and Humanitarian Aid, said that the situation had not affected EU aid earlier this year when Poland was hit by extreme floods. ...
