Around 7,000 were evacuated after the explosions
One man died and at least eight were left injured after a gas explosion ripped through a block of flats in Zielona Gora on Tuesday evening.
According to reports by TVN, approximately 7,000 residents were evacuated from their homes, although most were eventually allowed to return before midnight.
“It’s difficult to say what the exact problem was at this point,” said Piotr Chorbotowicz, the director of the gas department that supplies the city. “The case is currently being investigated by the relevant departments and we will get answers.”
