Franek trains Polish strikers

Tomasz Frankowski, currently joint-top scorer in the Ekstraklasa, began his new job as coaching assistant to Franciszek Smuda with the national side at their training camp in Turkey this week. “It’s already sunk in that I’m having to combine my duties as a player with those of a coach. Everyone finishes their playing career sometime,” admitted 36-year-old Frankowski.

He spent the first session, this Wednesday, kicking his heels as the squad went through tactics, but in the afternoon was more involved, barking comments to players he still competes alongside, like Kamil Grosicki, his partner in attack at Jagiellonia Bialystok.
