A lot of secrets are still hidden behind the high walls of the Starogard Gdanski hospital
Prosecutors have launched an investigation into abuse at a children’s ward at a psychiatric hospital after it emerged that patients were subjected to a brutal regime of physical and mental violence.
As part of a catalogue of horrors, the children, aged 13 to 18, were kicked, made to parade barefoot in the snow, received painful saline solutions injections, were allowed only 15-minute visits from family and could not eat their own food.
Anybody who protested at the Hospital for Mental Disorders in Starogard Gdanski received cold showers for “insubordination” or faced weeks in solitary confinement.
