Szczesny's performance impressed
Arsenal’s young Polish keeper, Wojciech Szczesny, got a surprising promotion to the starting line-up this Monday, getting the nod ahead of Manuel Almunia. Receiving his first Premiership start for Arsenal against Manchester United at Old Trafford, the 20-year-old Pole showed a few signs of nerves early on, with a shanked clearance. However, his performance grew in stature as the match went on.
Left helpless for the only goal of the match, a looping header by Park Ji-Sung, Szczesny went on to make a point-blank save from Anderson and a fabulous backward dive to tip away a Wayne Rooney chip.
