The long-awaited Russian report into the causes of the Smolensk disaster received a furious reception in Poland with claims of bias, errors and blatant attempts to absolve Russia of any guilt linked to the tragedy.
The report by Russia’s Interstate Aviation Committee concluded that the crash of the Tupolev Tu-154, carrying President Lech Kaczynski and 95 others, was caused by a series of errors made by the flight crew.
President Kaczynski’s plane crashed, killing all on board, as it tried to land at Smolensk airport in western Russia on the morning of April 10 last year.
