A man in the eastern town of Biala Podlaska has been arrested for purposely leading his dog into the path of an oncoming train.

Police were shocked to discover CCTV footage of 22-year-old Mateusz Ch. tying the animal to the tracks then diving out of the way as it is crushed under the train’s wheels.

“You get to see a lot of grim things as an officer, but this is the nastiest, cruellest act I’ve ever witnessed,” said a police spokesperson.

The man now faces five years behind bars. ...
