The crash site is drawing in an increasing number of tourists
Tourism to the Smolensk crash site is thriving only nine months after the plane disaster according to news reports.
There has been talk by Russian authorities of constructing new hotels to deal with the influx of tourists and Polish businesses have even been approached about getting in on the act.
Speaking to TVN, Zuzanna Kurtyka, whose husband, the head of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) died in the crash, said; “Russia should first protect the site and erect a monument to the victims instead of developing tourism to the region.” ...
