The late president has been edited out of the film
The character of the late Lech Kaczynski has been cut out of upcoming Hollywood film ‘5 Days of August’, despite playing a large role in the real-life events on which the film is based.
Directed by Renny Harlin, the movie documents the Russia-Georgia conflict which led to the 2008 South Ossetia war and is due to come out in March this year.
However, even though all the scenes which feature the president (played by Marshall Manesh) have already been shot, they have simply been removed from the final edit.
“The decision was eventually made after a number of lengthy consultations in connection with the death of the president last year,” explained a spokesperson for the film. ...
