President Bronislaw Komorowski has signed the budget bill for 2011 it was officially announced this week.

According to reports on TVN, the year’s state spending is expected to be approximately PLN 313.4 bln and the maximum deficit has been set at PLN 40.2 bln.

The government expects income from privatisation to amount to PLN 15 bln (down from PLN 25 bln in 2010) and public sector pay is to be frozen.

However, in addition to this, pensions are set to rise by 2.7 percent in March and teachers can expected a 7 percent wage increase come September.
