Stoch is celebrating again after a poor start
Kamil Stoch followed up his debut World Cup victory in the ski jump with another win, this time in Klingenthal, Germany. Lying in fourth after the first round, he made a magnificent second round jump to outstrip this season’s leading jumper, Thomas Morgenstern, and take first place.
The victory looked highly unlikely after the first round of jumps, with a hill record of 146.5m set by Germany’s Michael Uhrmann leaving the rest of the pack way behind. But a terrible second round jump relegated the German to thirteenth, and Stoch’s 136.5m leap saw him land on top of the podium.
